Terms and Conditions

Last updated: January 2026

This page is a general template covering standard booking, cancellation, and liability terms for a Tanzania safari operator. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer — Platoon Tours should have it checked by qualified legal counsel in Tanzania before this page goes live on the real site.

1. Booking & Payment

A booking is confirmed once a deposit (typically 30% of the total safari cost) has been received. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before the start of your safari. Bookings made within 30 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking. Payment can be made via bank transfer or another method agreed with our team.

2. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing. Refunds are calculated based on how far in advance the cancellation is received:

  • 60+ days before departure: full refund minus the deposit
  • 30–59 days before departure: 50% refund of the total cost
  • Less than 30 days before departure: no refund

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation for exactly this reason.

3. Changes to Itinerary

Weather, road conditions, wildlife movement, and park regulations in Tanzania can change without notice. Platoon Tours reserves the right to modify an itinerary, route, or accommodation when necessary for your safety or due to circumstances beyond our control, while keeping the overall quality and spirit of the trip you booked.

4. Health, Safety & Assumption of Risk

Safari travel involves inherent risks, including but not limited to wildlife encounters, rough terrain, and travel to remote areas with limited medical facilities. By booking with Platoon Tours, you acknowledge these risks and confirm that you are medically fit to travel. Please inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or mobility needs before your trip.

5. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance — covering medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellation, and lost luggage — is required for all guests traveling with Platoon Tours. Proof of insurance may be requested before departure.

6. Liability

Platoon Tours acts as an operator of the safaris we run directly, and in some cases as an agent for third-party services (such as domestic flights, hotels, or activities not directly operated by us). We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of nature, political events, or the actions of third-party service providers.

7. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be held liable for failure to perform any obligation under these terms due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government action, pandemics, or civil unrest. In such cases, we will work with you in good faith on rescheduling or crediting your trip where possible.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising from a booking with Platoon Tours shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania.

9. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to info@platoon-tours.com or via the contact page.
